Bailey in the Big City

San Fran girls copy
(older photos)

This past week, John had a seminar in San Francisco so Bailey and I decided to join him and do some shopping. Well, I am not a huge shopper so what I mean by that is we browsed through Sacs and Macy's...(okay and Kate Spade, Banana Republic, (hey mom, speaking of Santa letters' click here, Louis Vuitton just kidding! and a few others that we happened by. ) Bailey chose a Santa Dress in Macy's because they had a 'write a letter to Santa and mail it in the box' station set up that got her a little excited about the guy in the red suit...and its not even Thanksgiving! I must give the city some credit, it was not completely decked out for Christmas yet. They were just getting started, Union Square was a mess while they are putting together the out door ice skating rink. Bailey and I watched them for a while before going for pumpkin spice latte's (her's was a soy decaf) at "Bread and Coco". Even though it rained one of the days and the Grand Hyatt, where we stayed, had a strike going on, (we were on the news!) Bailey and I had such a lovely time together.

And That is the purpose of this post...to log in how much I am simply enjoying my little girl.

I know this time cannot last forever (She will eventually be a teenager! um, you know, and would rather be with her friends) but I still do have many years left...not to say there is not so many fun things about having children at every age... (Barrington just heard that he has been accepted at Bethany University and has hopes for a few more of those kind of letters and Britton made individual sectionals for cross country yesterday and cheering her on, seeing her success was beyond exciting! John and I were jumping up and down giving each other high fives over both our Big B people yesterday. Just to share our happiness a little with you, hope you don't mind)

Back to the point. Being with Bailey in the city was a blast for me. (Mostly, because we dressed her up in her 'go to the city' clothes and she got so much attention, kidding) She was such a precious little companion every where she and I went together. And even when we were stuck in the hotel room with the rain, we talked and giggled and got dressed up to go out anyway, together. The first morning she picked out Aunt Shelly's tutu to wear over her outfit, then put on her matching hot pink ugg boots and a big pink flower in her hair and we were off to 'get noticed!" Then when people tell her she is cute or ask her name, she becomes shy for a moment, sidling up to me, holding tightly to my hand and then smiles, says 'tank you' and that her name is 'Bay ee' where upon they look to me to clarify (every time! We are going to have to work on that name saying ability.) She walked between John and I to dinner and sat like a miniature grown up tasting, very politely all the different foods, impressing her Daddy with her little manners. Now that we are back home, today she decided to wear her white Strasburg dress again to church for like the third week in a row, cracking me up. So that's it, the point; that I, (we) are just having so much fun with our little daughter. I wanted to somehow express that here and hope I managed to just a little.

Oh...and this is what Barrington, Britton and Brett did while we were away...(lol)
